There is still time to get your spooky on. Halloween may be on a Monday this year, (LAME) but that doesn’t mean the parties or trick or treating has to end early!
If your excuse is that you have no costume, then you are in luck. I’ve scoured Pinterest and used my own experience and creativity to come up with 5 in a pinch costumes for any occasion.
Above you can see my last minute costume. I kind of already had an idea in my head of what I wanted to do. Do you remember the Magic School Bus? Well, I already had Mrs. Frizzle’s hair and blue dress. It was just a matter of making it look a little wackadoodle.
I went to Michael’s and for $20 got foam, stickers and sparkly duct tape. Oh and I managed to find a Liz the Lizard too.
It took me a couple of hour to cut out and adhere the shapes for the sun and the school bus, but it was worth it. I got a ton of compliments and I looked awesome.
So how do you make your own costume? It’s easy, I promise.
Ok, so this first one is a little 2014, but since the 2nd movie is coming out soon, it could be funny.
1. Fifty Shades of Grey
All you need is a head to toe grey outfit. It could be a dress or sweatpants, whatever you have in your closet. Then head to your local hardware store and for FREE, take some grey paint samples. You could take 50 or take 10 (because there are usually 5 shades to a sample) and adhere them to your outfit. Done. You are now 50 Shades of Grey.
2. Price is Right Contestant
Ok, this one was just awesome. I found it on Pinterest and you can modify it to be a contestant on Jeopardy or Wheel of Fortune too. But no matter which game show you choose, this is simple.
All you need is a name tag, construction paper, scissors, glue and ribbon.
3. Greek Goddess
This one is perfect for any setting – be it trick or treating house to house or a last minute party because you can make it as long or as short and sexy as you darn well please.
All you need is a bed sheet, preferably white or off white, but frankly pink cloud sheets would work too. Get yourself some thin rope from the local craft or hardware store, a stand of ivy garland and some gold accessories (i.e. jewelry/headbands). You will also need sandals and either duct tape or hot clue to connect the 2 ends of ivy so you can wear it as a crown. Just be prepared that it may be a little cold depending on where you live.
4. Rain Cloud
Ok, I saw this one on Pinterest and I just thought it was adorable. Maybe it’s better on a child, but it could be cute as a couple costume if you went as Lightning and Rain.
You need is white stuffing which you can get at a craft store find (or destroy a pillow or 2. Use this as a last resort), string, tape, and light blue construction paper. Also, wear your rain boots.
5: Nasty Woman and A Bad Hombre
It’s important to stay up to date on current events. It’s also important to have fun. It’s great when the 2 can be brought together as one INCREDIBLE costume. This would be another great couples costume.
For the bad hombre, get yourself a sombrero, a fake mustache and a black t-shirt with scrawled writing that says “Bad Hombre”. (Easy enough to make). Maybe throw in a nerf gun or poncho. This guy wins.
To be a Nasty Woman, make your own version of the Nasty Woman t-shirt found here and pair it with a white power suit. Don’t have white? Any power suit will do.
This is guaranteed to make you HBIC.
Ok, those are my suggestions. I’d love to hear about your costumes in the comment section below! Do you have any awesome last minute ideas?
No matter what you wear on Halloween, have fun and be safe!
